This Movember, grow your Mo and use it to raise funds for men’s health.
Helping men live happier, healthier, longer lives, the Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round. With one goal: to stop men dying too young.
What is Movember?
It’s an annual event where men grow their moustache during November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s suicide.
Why?
The state of men’s health is in crisis. Men experience worse longer-term health than women and die on average six years earlier.
- Prostate cancer rates will double in the next 15 years.
- Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50.
- Three quarters of suicides are men.
- Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute.
The Movember Foundation addresses this problem on a global level, funding programmes all over the world, engaging with men and making change happen. By 2030, Movember will reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.
